From the Ayurvedic Kitchen · Rejuvenating rasayana
Ghee-Soaked Dates
Dates have been considered an energy-giving food by many cultures. In this Ayurvedic recipe, dates are combined with ghee, saffron, cardamom, cinnamon, and ginger.
Rich and sweet, they nourish and revitalize your deepest tissues. This mixture is a classic rasayana, a tonic for rejuvenation (and an ancient love potion!). It is said to strengthen immunity as well as aid digestion. I love these little nuggets for building vitality in an easy and yummy way.
Ingredients
- Whole dates, pitted
- Ghee, enough to soak
- A pinch each of saffron, cardamom, cinnamon, and ginger
Directions
- 01
Nestle the pitted dates in a clean jar.
- 02
Warm the ghee gently with the spices and pour over the dates until covered.
- 03
